We are a military veteran operated clan. Our rules are simple: fight fair, hard, and with honor and respect. Good sportsmanship is a cornerstone of our game play.
In General - Our servers are not the place to air out your dislike of political or personal issues. If you cannot leave racial bigotry, ethnic slurs, and other socially dysfunctional maladies at the door, you will be asked (once, and then forced) to leave. If you like to spend most of your time typing smak in game, get a secretarial job. Otherwise, you're just taking up space on our server and contributing nothing. "Shut up and play" is the only warning you will get before you are kicked. These are gentlemen's games and will be played as such, at all times, on our servers. We run a tight ship here according to our Code of Ethics and Conduct as well as our Charter. We welcome those who share a higher standard of excellence in both life and gaming and respect our ideals.We try not over-admin our servers with pointless rules as it detracts from the game. The following, however, are some rules we do enforce. This is the only warning you may receive.
Specifically:
- NO use of cheats or exploits in any way, shape, or form including map, terrain, weapon, kit, class, CVAR settings, etc. [OgV] may enforce game/server specific rules to counter known and/or percieved issues (balance or exploit).
- NO use inappropriate tags, signatures, sprays, or nicknames. While not all inclusive, here is a list of some thing in this category: Pictures or descriptions of graphic violence or nudity, sexual acts, discharges of any bodily matter (fluid or so lid) from human or animal; vulgar/explicit profanity; political affiliations and/or partisan promotions; ethnic slurs or statements; religious affiliation, beliefs, or statements; illegal drugs or drug use; URLs in general; URLs or links to any of those items listed here; URLs or links pointing to sites containing cheats, hacks, illegal software, or viruses.
- NO disrespect toward admins or any other player. This includes arguments, personal attacks, or impersonation.
- NO intentional/excessive team killing (TK'ing)
- NO extreme profanity or (potentially) offensive language on in-game chat (text or voice). While not all inclusive, here is a list of some thing in this category: Descriptions of graphic violence or nudity, sexual acts, discharges of any bodily matter (fluid or solid) from human or animal; vulgar/explicit profanity; political affiliations and/or partisan promotions; ethnic slurs or statements; religious affiliation, beliefs, or statements; illegal drugs or drug use; URLs in general; URLs or links to any of those items listed here; URLs or links pointing to sites containing cheats, hacks, illegal software, or viruses.
- NO Smaktards (behaviors like excessive taunting, selfish game play, whining, bitching, chat spam, or otherwise being a general pain in the ass).
In games with vehicles:
- DO NOT use ground vehicles as personal taxis to aircraft.
- DO NOT park ground vehicles on air strips or in front of the hangars (places where they are likely to interfere with takeoff/landing) or use them in any other way (known or expected) to Team Kill.
Base (spawn) camping:
For tactical purposes, base camping can be a valid combat strategy. We are team based both in structure and tactical application of military strategy with respect to team based competitive FPS gaming. Therefore, if a combat unit cannot protect their own assets, they do not deserve to win according to normal military rules of engagement. However, base camping is contrary to capturing and holding flags (or completing other objectives) so therefore it has little tactical value for [OgV] on public servers. We consider base camping more of a nuisance than anything else.
Base camping without having all the flags (or other objectives) is selfish, stupid, and childish. When used to rack up points, humiliate an opponent, or otherwise not used in a tactical manner, we treat base camping as dishonorable game play. This results in a warning followed by a swift kick and possible ban if not corrected immediately.
Simplified, the above paragraphs can be reduced to the following: Base (spawn) camping is allowed, but... If it hampers the ability of players to play and have fun, we will ask you to stop. If you don't, you will get kicked.
